We have arrived in Yangshuo and with it we have left behind the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Once a small village of farmers and river fishermen, now one of China’s best-known tourist destinations, it still retains the rural charm that attracted the first foreign climbers. Here is the best climbing sector of all this, “White Mountain”. Legend also says that the Yulong River was the most beautiful river in China, and that the mountains that border it are neither more nor less than the shapes of the back of a dragon that chose this place to rest.

Yangshuo is considered to be China’s climbing paradise. Here you will find more than 1000 sport climbing routes in a perimeter of approximately 30 kilometers around. From vertical routes to caves with spectacular streams, the limestone of its karst geography offers a variety of styles and levels for all audiences ranging from fifth to 9th.

But it’s not all climbing, because this region, once completely rural, now a small tourist center in southern China, offers a wide variety of leisure and activities, both outdoors and inside what is now a small city. From boat trips on the Yulong River and the Li River, motorcycle rentals to spend the day through its beautiful roads, food from all regions of China, exploring one of its caves, visiting a tea plantation, or even riding a hot air balloon or hang gliding. Yangshuo is a beautiful destination, full of life and things to do.

Of all the activities that are available, there is only one that is truly different and unique at night. Without a doubt, one of the most memorable shows. It is the “Impression Light Show”, an open-air theatrical-musical performance, and floating!, since it takes place all on the Li River.

Yangshuo is a magical city that at the same time as touristy lets visitors see part of rural Chinese life. For decades it has been a magnet for foreigners, since many of its visitors have stayed, even years, as is the case with oneself, and many have even decided to live there, as is the case of some friends as well. And this little place has something truly magical.
